I enjoy applying my Linux knowledge in real-life problem solving due to the power, flexibility and stability that Linux offers. My roles involve designing, configuring, securing and maintaining Linux systems in order to provide businesses with a reliable IT infrastructure.
My venturing into Linux was out of curiosity. I was interested in knowing what made it special, unlike other operating systems. That interest led to an extensive knowledge regarding open-source technologies, kernel internals, and scripting. Over the years, I have adopted the view that Linux is the unsung hero of scalable, reliable computing.
Nowadays, I am fine with such distributions as Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, and Fedora. I perform routine service management, network configuration, and threat protection to systems, all without a graphical user interface. I also create shell scripts so as to automate and make daily operations much easier.
I am involved in installing and hardening Linux servers, backup management, and the installation of such services as Apache, Nginx, MySQL, and Docker. I would work with network installations, disk partitioning, LVM and RAID setups and ensure that best practices are maintained to keep services up.
I love automation. To minimise the amount of manual work and to maintain consistency between systems spread across several machines, I employ Bash, Ansible, and Cron jobs. I will learn more about Kubernetes and Docker Compose so that I can handle containers more effectively.
One of my priorities at work is security. I use firewalls (UFW, iptables), SSH best practice, SELinux, AppArmor and user privilege management. I do vulnerability scans regularly and maintain systems patched.
It is great to be a Linux professional and have that kind of control and customisation that the OS provides. I am still in the process of learning, and I intend to take some certifications such as RHCE or LPIC to have my skills vindicated.

Introduction In the modern digital economy, data is more than just a resource—it’s the backbone of strategic decision-making. Companies that leverage data-driven business models consistently outperform those that rely on outdated, intuition-based methods. With a continuous explosion of data from digital platforms, sensors, IoT devices, and enterprise systems, the role of data science has evolved […]
Everyone in the twenty-first century wants to take advantage of cutting-edge technology by putting in less effort or using too much of their limited mental capacity. The same is true while using a mobile app or website; the better the user experience, the faster and more efficiently the site or app will reply. In a […]
