Samrath Chug

Hello, I am Samrath. For the last few months, I have managed my Python studies by following tutorials online, using YouTube, and practising many times. Because I have a commerce degree, not computer science, I wasn’t always an expert, but I’ve always wanted to know how everything is done behind the scenes in software development. I was interested in Python from the start because it seemed easy for beginners, and from then on I got very interested in it. To begin, I learned the basic things such as data types, loops, conditionals, and functions. Every day, I did some small exercises, whether it was for just 30 minutes or longer. The project was developed in small steps at the beginning. It was not easy for me to figure out how to set up indentation, write logic, and let functions communicate properly. But accomplishing small problems encouraged me to go on with my practice. At the moment, I’m acquainting myself with object-oriented programming and handling files. Lately, I created a simple to-do list app that helps you include, edit, and store your tasks in a file. For some people, this is simple, but when I first tried it out, I was surprised to see that it acted like I had predicted. I started researching the areas in which Python is useful as well. Web scraping with BeautifulSoup and requests made me discover a different side of automation. I wrote code that searches the site’s prices and lets me know if the cost of books decreases. Once more, this project was not large, but it was amazing to make a program that deals with the internet. I decided to join a coding challenge on the internet to help me organise my learning. We encounter different issues each day, and we help each other look for answers. It’s been helpful because I get to see how other people approach the same problem differently. I’ve learned about writing cleaner code, using list comprehensions, and breaking down tasks step by step. My long-term goal is to move into data analysis or automation roles, so I’ve started exploring libraries like pandas and matplotlib. I followed a tutorial that walks through analysing CSV files and visualising the results. I’m still getting comfortable with concepts like dataframes and plotting, but I can already see how powerful Python is when dealing with data. One thing I’ve realised is that consistency matters more than speed. I’ve made it a habit to log what I learn each day—what worked, what didn’t, and what I want to revisit later. Some days are frustrating, especially when errors pop up that I don’t understand, but I’ve learned to ask questions, look at documentation, and not give up easily. Also, Python innovations captivate me, and I love writing about them. I’m thankful for this platform to share my thoughts and insights! I’m not applying for jobs yet. Right now, I just want to focus on learning and building confidence.
