I am an SEO executive in a growing IT company, and I look after both on-site and off-site SEO for several client websites. After finishing my diploma in digital marketing, I started this job and have gained more knowledge than I imagined possible in the previous six months. I concentrate on boosting the visibility of websites when people search on Google. After getting up, I immediately check how each keyword is ranked, review Google Analytics stats, and examine the websites of clients to make sure they don’t have any issues. I rely on Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Screaming Frog to go through pages, check links, and find places that require improvement. One of the first facts I found out was that SEO is different from just the use of keywords. At this point in my career, I spend a lot of time optimising meta titles, writing briefs for SEO-qualified content, fixing bad links, and improving the way links are structured on the site. In the past, I handled a travel blog, and we made major changes to the website’s organisation and introduced location-specific landing pages for keywords. The work took some time, but we saw how organic traffic increased by 40% in just three months. I also participate in off-page SEO by building links through means of guest posting, submitting articles to forums, and including the business in local listings. In the beginning, link building seemed like a chore, but I see now that it really improves a website’s credibility. I prepare reports each month which detail how our keywords move, the number of visits we get online, and the accomplishment of our goals. As a result of making these reports, I can now share complex data and explain it straightforwardly while working with clients. I have recently focused on schema markup and found out about the importance of speed and mobile responsiveness for better rankings. I have started to discover how to use Google Tag Manager. Outside of work, I spend time reading SEO blogs and case studies. I also test small experiments on my blog, such as using long-tail keywords and tweaking headline structures to see how they perform. These experiments give me space to test ideas without risk and keep me updated on algorithm changes. I’m excited to study and write on tech advances here. I’m glad this platform exists to let me express my insights and share with everyone! Over time, I hope to grow into an SEO strategist role where I can plan and lead full-scale SEO campaigns.
