Celebrating 20th Anniversary

industrial training in chandigarh

Prisha Chandra

While I’m completing my last year in a multimedia and design school, I’m also gaining experience as a web designer as an intern at a nearby design agency. My main tasks are to design the structure and visually pleasing assets for websites that also operate efficiently. Because of this internship, I have used my classroom knowledge to work on real projects and see how clients react and decide. The first step of my day is to browse through the design feedback I get from the UI/UX lead. The tools I mainly use are Adobe XD and Figma for designing web pages, concentrating on how everything is organised, the colours, and the user path. I’ve begun learning how to use the languages HTML and CSS to illustrate my ideas to the development team. In the past, I worked on revamping the website of a small business that sold goods to help the environment. I took care of both the homepage and product display parts of the website. I made sure the design was earthy and clean, plus the navigation was user-friendly. Having my work officially launched was very fulfilling after having worked on it and learning how to adapt to the clients’ requirements. I have come to understand that responsive design is very important when building websites. Now, I choose to plan my designs around mobile, so the layout appears right on any screen. I was unfamiliar with using design systems and component collections at the start, but I now see they make development faster and ensure consistency. Collaboration plays a major role in what I do each day. Often, I work with developers, content writers, and other volunteers. It has allowed me to find out how design contributes to web development and overall strategy. I also know now how to present visual work clearly, either by sketching my ideas or showing examples that explain what I want to create. In my free time, I follow platforms like Dribbble and Behance to study trends, and I recreate UI elements I find inspiring. I also try to stay updated on accessibility best practices, because I’ve realised that good design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s also about inclusivity and usability. I enjoy diving into and writing on tech in this area. This platform makes me happy, letting me voice my thoughts and share info with many! My short-term goal is to continue building my portfolio with meaningful work that demonstrates both creativity and functionality. Eventually, I want to specialise in UI/UX design and work in a role where I can create human-centred digital experiences that are beautiful, accessible, and useful. #WebDesignIntern #UIDesign #UXDesign #ResponsiveDesign #DesignStudent #FigmaDesigns #CreativeTech #WebDesignTrends #InternshipExperience #WebAccessibility #DesignForWeb #WomenInDesign #DigitalCreativity #FrontendDesign
