Krisha Raman

I am a networking expert interested in designing, as well as operating and securing the digital infrastructures that ensure our world is interconnected. When the world we live in is dominated by the necessity of having businesses, schools, healthcare and even the manner in which we speak to each other on a daily basis, I can proudly say that I contribute to what makes all of that happen. I started networking since I had a curiosity about how the internet functions, how the information is sent, how the devices can communicate with each other and how connectivity is maintained between towns and countries. That sparked me to want to know the fundamentals of networking, and that started with IP addressing, subnetting, routing, switching and some of the protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP. Practically, I have exposure to Cisco, Juniper, and Mikrotik devices throughout the years, where I was engaged in the physical installation of the devices in LANs, WANs, and enterprise networks. I have handled the configuration of routers and switches up to VLANS, ACLS and OSPF/EIGRP routing. I, as well, have configuration experience on firewalls, VPN, wireless access points, and network monitoring tools to ensure performance and security. The best part about networking is that it is structural as well as complex. One of them you have to fulfil through effective reasoning, planning and troubleshooting. Every network issue is a puzzle, and the solution to it is the restoration of essential services, user uptime and business. It is a flexible and precise job. I also initiate maintenance of certifications and continuous learning. I am also a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and will be training as a CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) soon in order to further my enterprise networking and advanced problem-solving knowledge. I have also acquired the value of documentation, teamwork, and communication alongside technical skills. It could be keeping network diagrams up to date, creating handover documentation, or describing configurations to a non-technical coworker: being able to communicate is important in all cases. Another subject I care about is security. Threats increase along with the growth of networks. I have made some efforts to learn network security fundamentals, apply firewall policies, configure safe remote access (VPNs), and use best practices to reduce vulnerability. My responsibilities in my present job are to help ensure the stability and performance of networks serving on-site as well as remote users. I also observe performance, react to outages, and assist with continual upgrades to the infrastructure. Each day presents different situations, from simple troubleshooting to assisting in complex migration strategies. In the future, I hope to focus on network design and security architecture, and maybe pursue certifications such as CCIE or immerse myself in cloud networking with AWS or Azure. I consider networking as the quiet workhorse of digital transformation, and I would like to continue to develop along with it. There is no end to the learning in this industry, but as each cable gets patched, every packet gets tracked down, and every problem gets solved, I am gaining skill and confidence. #NetworkingProfessional #CCNA #CCNPInProgress #NetworkEngineer #RoutingAndSwitching #LANWAN #CiscoCertified #NetworkSecurity #PacketTracer #SubnettingPro #FirewallConfiguration
