Kashvi Mittal
My current role is that of a Web Design Intern, and I get to explore the possibility of merging both creativity and functionality in order to create interesting digital experiences. Good web design is not about making things pretty- it is about making websites simple, easy to use, and that are responsive to any device. The internship is giving me the perfect background in discovering how design and technology are being merged together in order to produce the online experience of users. My entry into the world of web design was captivated by visual storytelling and online aesthetics. The capacity of layout, colour, typography and movement to completely alter the experience of the individual utilising a site appealed to me. This interest turned into a career goal as I began to teach myself the ropes of HTML, CSS, a bit of JavaScript, and design tools like Figma and Adobe XD. My name is a web design intern, and I assist with wireframing, prototype creation, and mockup to functional and responsive pages. I equally collaborate closely with the developers and the graphic designers to ensure there is uniformity in the design and functionality. I have also learned that the key is to establish the right balance between the aesthetics and functionality of the design- all design choices must be justified. It makes this internship one of the most exciting things since I can see my work in print. Whether it is a landing page, a portfolio site, or an e-commerce layout, the actuality of the fact that a user will interact with something that I have helped to design is an extremely humbling one. I also got to understand how accessibility, mobile-friendliness, and the concepts of UX design could make a successful site. I am also brushing up on my knowledge of such tools as Canva, Webflow, Figma, and studying how to work with such CSS frameworks as Bootstrap to accelerate design implementation. I also understand colour theory, hierarchy, white space, and how minute elements such as hover states or the position of a button can influence the user experience better. That experience has demonstrated to me the importance of iteration and feedback. Being a team player implies that designs are usually reviewed several times, and I have learnt to accept feedback positively and employ it to improve my designs. When I am not working on my internship-related duties, I am reading about design trends, studying actual websites to focus on inspiration, and creating personal design projects. I am also reading up on the rudiments of SEO, UI/UX design patterns, and the role that performance and content play in shaping the user experience at large. My dream is to work as a UI/UX designer or a front-end developer, and this internship is assisting me in acquiring the design thinking, technical abilities, and creativity confidence that will allow me to take a step towards that direction. Each day that I get to design, test, and improve makes me become the creative professional that I want to be. I can not wait to continue learning, continue improving, and continue producing designs that not just look good, but make the online experience of people better. #WebDesignIntern #DesignInProgress #CreativeJourney #UIUXDesign #FigmaDesign #ResponsiveWebDesign #InternshipExperience #UserCenteredDesign #FrontEndDesign #DesignForWeb #TypographyMatters #DigitalCreativity #DesignThinking #HTMLCSSBasics #BuildingWithPurpose
